Store description excerpt
Z-TMJ is an occlusal analysis software that allows for the digitization and quantitative interpretation of intercuspal impressions obtained with calibrated wax. The method transforms a traditional clinical measurement into an objective dataset that can be analyzed in terms of contact distribution, relative loads, and occlusal dynamics. Occlusal Analysis Z-TMJ allows for the evaluation of: -The distribution of dental contacts on individual teeth -The percentages of load between the hemiarches -The identification of pre-contacts (deflecting, balancing, stabilizing) -The areas of underload and overload -The intercuspal dynamics up to maximum intercuspation (MIP) The analysis can be performed in various occlusal conditions: -Maximum habitual intercuspation -Centric relation -Rest position The recordings are obtained using manual or instrumental techniques, without operational interference, thanks to the characteristics of the wax used. It is also possible to analyze specific disclusions (lateral and protrusive) through dedicated recordings for each movement. Functional and Postural Analysis Z-TMJ integrates a second level of analysis focused on the interaction between the stomatognathic system and neuromuscular control. Specifically, the following are analyzed: - Occlusal force centers (global and per hemiarch) - Intercuspation trajectories - Sliding and rotation dynamics - The temporal evolution of contacts from first contact to MIP Recordings are performed under standardized conditions: - Patient in the supine position - Eyes closed (to reduce visual input) - Absence of podalic interference - Spontaneous closure after physiological swallowing This approach allows us to isolate, as far as possible, the occlusal component within the tonic-postural system. Output and Clinical Applications The data is processed using algorithms that integrate: - Contact intensity (depth in the wax) - Force distribution - Dynamic stabilization or deflection patterns The analysis supports the clinician in the following phases: - Diagnostics - Treatment planning - Monitoring over time Distinguishing features - High repeatability and objectivity of data - No significant interference with occlusal closure - Integration with existing clinical methods - Free and easy-to-use application Methodological note Occlusal analysis must always be interpreted in the global context of the stomatognathic system, which includes: - TMJ function - The neuromuscular component - Craniocervical dynamics Z-TMJ is a decision-support tool and does not replace clinical judgment.
