Check a rate in a second, or work one out properly. Zimrate does both. AT A GLANCE Open the app and you land on your rates as floating bubbles — each one sized against the others, showing the country, the flag and the current rate. When a rate moves, the bubble changes colour and shows an arrow, so you can see what has shifted without reading a single number. Tap any bubble to open it in the calculator. CONVERT ANYTHING Type an amount against any currency and every other rate updates around it. A built-in calculator sits in each field for when the sum is not a round number. RATES YOU CAN CHECK Rates are gathered from multiple published sources rather than a single one, and you choose how they are combined — the median by default, or the mean, highest, lowest or most common. Every rate links back to the source it came from, so you can see where a number originated. Covers the currencies people here actually deal in, including: • USD — United States Dollar • ZWG — Zimbabwe Gold • ZAR — South African Rand • BWP — Botswana Pula • ZMW — Zambian Kwacha • GBP, EUR, CNY, JPY, AUD, NZD, NGN, TZS and more YOUR OWN RATES Got a rate the app does not carry, or one you were quoted directly? Add it yourself with your own name and value. It behaves like any other rate — you can favourite it, use it in calculations, and send it to your widgets and watch. You can also override any rate by hand when you want to work from a figure you have been given rather than a published one. MAKE IT YOURS Favourite the currencies you follow so they lead the list and fill your glance screen. Hide the ones you never use, and drag the rest into whatever order suits you. Full dark mode support. ON YOUR WATCH A Wear OS app, a tile you can swipe to from the watch face, and complications you can place directly on it. Your favourites sync across from the phone automatically, with the same movement arrows. ON YOUR HOME SCREEN Two widgets — one for a single currency, one for several at once — both following your system's light or dark theme. WORKS OFFLINE Rates are stored on your device, so the last set you fetched stays readable with no signal. The app can also refresh quietly in the background on a schedule you set, or you can turn that off entirely. ELEVEN LANGUAGES English, Shona, Ndebele, Afrikaans, Swahili, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish. On Android 13 and later you can set the app's language on its own, without changing your whole phone. A NOTE ON REFRESHING Fetching fresh rates uses coins. You earn these free inside the app, including just for opening it each day, or you can top up if you would rather not wait.
