Store description excerpt
YiDian DigiT is a “Historical Astronomy” study tool for learners of traditional Chinese culture and the history of astronomy. An interactive 3D celestial sky shows traditional asterisms, the Twenty-Eight Mansions, and the classic luminaries; scrub time to see how the sky changes. The app highlights recent and yearly notable geometric sky events (conjunctions, multi-planet gatherings, mansion ingress, and more), and offers term notes plus short classic-style excerpts for side-by-side study. Differentiator — Classics Lookup (典籍稽考): starting from mansions, star names, and observational terms (ingress, station, conjunction, etc.), use AI-assisted lookup to retrieve brief observational / chronicle-style excerpts so you can match what you see on the sky map with how historical astronomical writings describe it (for study and comparison—not prediction). Key features: • 3D celestial sky: explore asterisms, mansion degrees, and luminaries to understand classical sky coordinates • Time scrubbing: change the moment and inspect nearby conjunctions, gatherings, and mansion ingress • Notable sky events of the year: a jumpable list of gatherings, conjunctions, and ingress events for event-based learning • Observational terms: name meanings and traditional imagery notes for technical vocabulary • Classics Lookup: AI-assisted classic-style excerpts from terms and event queries, for study and copyable notes • Structured info views: organized displays of sky events and terms for quick reference How to use: open the app to the sky map; search mansions/stars, or jump from the yearly events list; tap Classics Lookup to get term notes and short excerpts. For cultural and historical astronomy learning only—not professional advice. For: self-learners interested in classical Chinese astronomy, asterisms, and calendrical culture.
