Florida has hundreds of plants you could put in the ground. Most of them are from somewhere else. They look fine. They do nothing. Yardborn is a quiet field guide to 50 native plants that actually belong in West Central Florida: the ones that feed the bees nobody notices, the butterflies that show up in October, the beetles under the milkweed. Each plant gets its own page. Real photos. What it wants from you (sun, soil, water). What it gives back to everything that lives near it. Where you find it growing wild. What to watch for, what to plant nearby, what blooms when. The filter chip helps you narrow things down by care level, sun, safety, bloom season, or whether a plant draws specialist bees. The Favorites tab keeps the plants you are actually thinking about planting, a running patch you build over time. Twenty-five plants are free, no account, no catch. A one-time $4.99 unlocks the other 25. That is the whole app. Drew aka SillyDroose, the developer, gives 60% of its proceeds from that purchase to the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation. Xerces is the organization doing the hard science behind why native plants matter for pollinators. You can read about the pledge inside the app. There are no streaks. No notifications unless you turn them on. No account. It works without a connection. Open it in a nursery when you can't remember whether that plant will take part shade. Find what you need, put the phone down. West Central Florida is the first region. More are coming.
