Whether you are crossing heritage cultivars for fragrance, hunting a new colour break, or breeding for hardiness in a cold zone, Xelvan brings the full rigour of a professional breeding notebook to your pocket. Start on the Cross Bench. Select any two of 22 curated heritage cultivars — from Old Blush and Rosa foetida persiana to New Dawn and Charles de Mills — and watch Xelvan's genetics engine compute in real time: ploidy compatibility, remontancy inheritance odds, predicted blackspot and mildew indices, expected germination counts, stratification windows, and a single viability score. Record the cross and let the Board take over — an eight-column Kanban pipeline (Pollinated → Hip Ripening → Seeds Extracted → Stratifying → Sown → Germinated → First Bloom → Selected) tracks every pollination tag through the season with date reminders and overdue alerts, each rendered as the physical swing tag you hang in the bed. When first blooms open, photograph and score each seedling on seven criteria — Form, Substance, Colour Hold, Repeat, Fragrance, Foliage Health, and Habit — automatically weighted by the personal breeding aims you set at onboarding. Carry your best candidates to the Selection Bench to compare two to four blooms side by side: full photos, per-criterion bar charts, and a head-to-head duel table make the keep-or-cull decision clear. Your season rounds out in the Records tab, where KPI tiles, a keep-rate donut, parent-cultivar leaderboards, and a monthly activity heat strip turn a season's worth of data into genuine insight. Complete the picture with the Library: 22 cultivar profiles covering ploidy, remontancy genotype, fertility data, ancestor species lines, and grower notes; a five-line species reference showing exactly what each ancestor gives and costs; and a nine-item tool kit checklist to keep your equipment in order. Xelvan is the only app designed from the ground up for the dedicated rose breeder.
