Store description excerpt
People may naturally synchronize their breathing and movements when exposed to a steady rhythm. Inspired by this idea of rhythmic entrainment, “Wrist Breath” is a rhythm guide app for Apple Watch. Before a presentation, speech, or other situation where you want to steady your pace, the app delivers a consistent tempo through gentle haptic feedback on your wrist. Because it makes no sound, you can use it without disturbing those around you. Choose from four tempo levels—Active, Focus, Relax, and Meditation—and fine-tune the tempo from 30 to 130 BPM using the Digital Crown. Three haptic strength levels are also available. Basic steady-tempo haptics are free for up to 3 minutes at a time. An Apple Watch is required to use this app. ■ Tempo Guide • Active — Default: 90 BPM / Range: 90–130 BPM For moments such as before a presentation or speech, when you want to begin with a faster tempo closer to your current pace. • Focus — Default: 80 BPM / Range: 75–89 BPM For work, study, or other situations where you want to focus. • Relax — Default: 70 BPM / Range: 61–74 BPM For moments when you want to return to a calmer pace. • Meditation — Default: 60 BPM / Range: 30–60 BPM For breaks, bedtime, or other moments when you want to spend time at a slower tempo. Everyone responds to rhythm differently. Use the Digital Crown to select a tempo that feels comfortable for you. ■ Premium Features — In-App Purchase A single purchase unlocks all of the features below. There is no monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription. • Continuous Haptics Remove the free 3-minute session limit and use continuous haptics for up to 60 minutes. • Step Down Gradually lowers the tempo from 90 BPM to 70 BPM in 2 BPM steps. Choose a duration of 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes. • Heart Rate When you start, the app reads up to 5 heart-rate samples from the last 10 minutes in HealthKit and takes the median of the values recorded within 2 minutes of the most recent one. It sets the haptic tempo at roughly 80% of that figure, within a base range of 60–100 BPM. If your heart rate is below 60 BPM, the tempo is never faster than your actual heart rate. The session stops automatically after 60 minutes. Turn on “Follow Heart Rate” and the tempo eases down to match the readings that arrive after you start. It only adjusts downward, so a rising heart rate never speeds the tempo up. Changes are limited to 3 BPM per minute and happen only between one tap and the next. Apple Watch does not measure heart rate at a fixed interval, so a session may finish without the tempo changing at all. With it off, the tempo set at the start is held for the whole session. Off by default. If no recent heart rate data is available, keep the watch on your wrist for a moment, or take a reading in the Heart Rate app, and try again. Step Down and Heart Rate cannot be used at the same time. You can try Step Down once for 15 minutes and Heart Rate once for 5 minutes at no charge. ■ Other • Your selected tempo an
