Store description excerpt
Is it really worth it? WorthLater asks one question before you spend. Type the price, pick what you would do with the money instead, and read the answer in two units: what it could become, and the hours of work it already cost you. No budget to build. No account. No lectures. HOW IT WORKS 1. Type the price. That is the whole setup. 2. Pick what the money would do instead: an index fund, gold, a savings account, or a company you follow. 3. See the trade. Spend it now, or keep it and see what it becomes. 4. Skip it, buy it, or sleep on it. Either way it is logged. TWO NUMBERS, NOT ONE Every price gets stated twice. Once in money, as what the same amount could grow into over the horizon you choose. Once in time, as the hours of work it took to earn, from your own hourly rate. Two levers on one decision, side by side, at the same size. COMPARE AGAINST WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED Search a company, fund, coin or metal, drag a window over its price history, and WorthLater states what your money would have come to across that stretch. It always prints a broad index fund over the same window next to it, along with the worst drop inside it. One company over a window you picked is the most flattering number an app like this can produce, so the boring one is shown too. SLEEP ON IT Not sure? Ask to be reminded in a day, a week, a month. The reminder arrives carrying the same trade the app showed you: the price, and what it becomes if you keep it. THE RECEIPTS Every decision is kept. History shows what you skipped, what you bought, and one running total for the money you walked away from. A WHOLE MONTH (WorthLater Plus) Budget is the same question asked of a month rather than a purchase. Four columns: made, spent on wants, spent on needs, set aside. The leftover carries the same projection a skipped purchase does, and the whole tab flips to hours of work. YOUR ASSUMPTIONS, NOT OURS Change the return rate, the horizon, the currency and your hourly rate. Count to a fixed number of years, or all the way to retirement. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No account. No sign-up. Every price, salary and decision you enter stays on your device. NOT ADVICE Projections use long-run average returns and assume steady growth. Real markets do not behave that way. WorthLater shows illustrations, not forecasts, and nothing in it is financial advice. WorthLater Plus unlocks the Budget tab. Checking a purchase, the History it builds up and every preference stay free, forever. WorthLater Plus is available as a monthly subscription or a single one-time purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. A monthly subscription renews automatically unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
