There's no waiting for a notification, no asynchronous chit-chat between rounds. If you're after a cosy word puzzle to curl up with on the sofa, this probably isn't your game. (Our Daily Challenge has that pace, and you'll find it here too — but it's the quiet corner of a loud game.) It's for players who want direct, live competition. You face one real opponent. You share 60 seconds. You drag to connect adjacent letters, spelling every word you can see. The person who finds more words — and the rarer, longer ones — wins. Sometimes it's over in a heartbeat. Sometimes a single 8-letter word snatches the match. WHY WE MADE IT THIS WAY We wanted a word game that respects your time and intelligence. So we built one. No ads, ever. No pay-to-win power-ups. Every in-game purchase is cosmetic — themes, avatar finishes, character packs, hint-tile tiers — and most can be earned just by playing. No one gets a better dictionary, a bigger grid, or extra seconds. Everyone shares the same 173,000 words (UK + US English unified). Everyone gets the same chance. ANONYMOUS BY DEFAULT When you first play, you're not asked to create an account or upload a photo. You play under a random handle. If you want to connect with actual friends, you use a simple code system. Once connected, you'll see their live presence — when they're online, when they're in a match — but there's no chat, no pressure to perform your personality. We're not trying to build a social network. We're trying to build pure competition. ALL THE WAYS YOU'LL PLAY On any given day, you might jump into Quick Match — instant real-time multiplayer against an opponent seeded by your skill rating. Win, and your ranking climbs; lose, and it adjusts. That rating loop rewards both vocabulary and raw speed. Maybe a friend sends you a match code. You accept, and for 90 seconds, it's just the two of you, settling a grudge in letters. The Daily Challenge offers a different rhythm. Every region gets the same seed. You play once, you score, you watch your name climb — or drop — on the leaderboard. Streaks matter. It's the solo score chase for the competitive soul, and it resets every day. Then there's the Campaign: 156 handcrafted levels across 3 worlds and 10 distinct level types. These aren't randomly generated grids. Each one is a brain-teasing puzzle that tests pattern recognition, anagramming, and specific word-finding strategies.
