Store description excerpt
Most vocabulary apps hand you a list. Wordseed does the opposite: you type in the words you actually met — in a book, a meeting, a song — and brings each one back right before you'd forget it. FIVE WORDS A DAY. THAT'S THE POINT. Wordseed caps new words at five a day on purpose. Add fifty tonight and in two weeks you'll open a 200-card queue and quit. Five a day is 1,800 words a year, because it's small enough to survive a busy Tuesday. YOU WRITE THE MEANING, NOT A DICTIONARY Every card is three things you type yourself: the word, what it means in your own words, and a sentence you'd actually say. Copied definitions don't stick — your brain files them as someone else's. THE SAME WORD GETS HARDER OVER TIME Wordseed tracks how strong each memory is and picks the exercise to match. You never pick a difficulty: - Week 1 — just recognise the word - Week 3 — drop it into a sentence, with the ending changed - Month 2 — write your own sentence using it - Month 4 — write a paragraph using it alongside other words you've mastered A card only ever climbs one level per review, so nothing arrives before you're ready. SCHEDULING THAT ISN'T GUESSWORK Wordseed runs FSRS, the open-source spaced repetition algorithm. Nothing is hidden: every card tells you how likely you are to still remember it, and Stats shows your streak, a 12-week heat map, and a day-by-day log. AI THAT CHECKS YOUR SENTENCE Write a sentence, tap Check with AI, and find out whether it actually works — and if a native speaker would say it differently, what they'd say instead. The explanation comes back in your native language, so the correction never gets lost in translation. YOUR WORDS STAY YOURS No preset packs. No word is ever locked behind a paywall. If you stop paying, every card you added stays, stays reviewable, and keeps its full history. Reminders work on the free plan too — an app that puts your reminder behind a subscription isn't teaching you anything. A NEW PASSAGE EVERY DAY Not sure which words to learn next? Today's Read gives you one short passage a day, with a handful of academic words in it. Tap any word you don't know and it becomes a card — met in a sentence, doing a job, the way you'd meet it in real life. ONE REMINDER A DAY, AT A TIME YOU PICK Wordseed knows which words are due, so the reminder says something real: "12 words are ready." One a day, never two — and if you review today, tonight's doesn't arrive. Pick the hour, or let the app use the time you usually review. FREE - Today's Read, the daily passage - 5 new words a day - All four exercise levels - 2 AI sentence checks and 1 AI suggestion a day - Reminders, streak, and full stats - A copy-the-prompt button, for checking sentences in a chatbot you already use WORDSEED PRO - 30 new words a day - Unlimited AI sentence checks - Unlimited AI meaning and example suggestions - Synonym and spot-the-mistake drills, once a word is nearly yours - Bring an existing list over: import up to 200 words at once PRIVACY No
