Point your camera at a board, a slab, an offcut or a finished piece of furniture and find out what the wood actually is. Wood Identifier reads grain direction, pore structure, color and figure from a single photo, then returns the species with a confidence score and the closest alternatives when the answer is not clear cut. IDENTIFY IN SECONDS Four scan modes: Auto, Surface, End Grain and Object. End Grain mode is built for offcuts and log ends, where pore arrangement and ray detail say far more than color ever will. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE HOLDING Every result opens into a full material report: - Janka hardness and density - Workability, gluing and finishing notes - Durability and outdoor suitability - Common uses and typical applications - Market tier, rarity and price range per board foot ESTIMATE THE VALUE Enter thickness, width and length and the board foot calculator turns a stack of lumber into a number. Useful at the yard, at an estate sale, or when someone offers you a pile of old boards. BUILD A LIBRARY Every scan is saved with its photo, your notes and project tags. Favorite the species you keep running into and search your own history the way you would search a reference book. REFERENCE CATALOG A built-in catalog of common species with surface and end grain photography, side by side comparison, and a Learn section on reading end grain, spotting figured wood and judging what lumber is worth. WHO IT IS FOR Woodworkers and hobbyists, furniture restorers, sawmill and lumberyard buyers, flooring and trim installers, antique dealers, firewood cutters, and anyone who has ever stared at a beautiful board with no idea what it is. HOW IDENTIFICATION WORKS Photos you submit are analyzed by an AI vision service through our own server. Only the photo you choose to scan is sent, there is no account and no upload of your history, and the image is not kept after the result comes back. Your library, notes and projects stay on your iPhone. SUBSCRIPTION Wood Identifier Premium unlocks identification and the full material report. Weekly and yearly plans are available. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
