Wingmate then reads your message aloud. Choose the way to communicate that works for you: • Type with Keyboard and Phrases • Have useful, saved phrases at your fingertips • Organize your phrases into categories • Get word and letter suggestions as you type • Communicate with Screens, Pages, Fields, and Symbols • Customize symbols, labels, pronunciation, colors, and layout • Import and export compatible screens in Open Board Format • Record and play back personal recordings for phrases • Choose between System TTS and Azure TTS • Use a primary language and an optional second language • Customize the pronunciation of names and words with the Pronunciation Dictionary • Customize Touch and Timing, and Feedback • Back up and restore your Wingmate data and use the same settings, screens, and phrases on your other devices Wingmate is built with real-world experience with cerebral palsy and communication aids in mind. The goal is to provide each individual with a flexible and personalized voice that can be adapted to different ways of communicating. Your phrases, Screens, and settings are stored on your device. Anonymous feature usage reporting is optional. No phrase text, Azure keys, or file paths are reported. System TTS works offline and requires no setup or API keys. Azure TTS is optional and provides access to a larger selection of neural voices. It requires internet connectivity and your own Azure Speech subscription key. When Azure TTS is used, the text is sent to Azure to form the speech. Wingmate is open source and released under the GPLv3
