Waves of kraken tentacles, reef sharks, armoured crabs and rival skiffs come up the sea lanes at your treasure galleon. Station your crews along the reef, hold every island on the voyage chart, and put the krakens back under. WinDay is a hand-painted naval tower defence voyage. Every siege is a fresh tactical problem: read the lane, pick your ground, and work out when to build and when to bank your salvage. SIXTY ISLAND CHARTS Five chapters of open sea, sixty charts, and a kraken waiting at every tenth one. Each chapter carves its lane a different way — serpentine, switchback, spiral, staircase, long gauntlet — so the ground under your guns keeps changing. FIVE KRAKENS, NOT ONE The Coral Kraken is slow and honest. The Storm Kraken rides the squall in fast. The Bone Kraken is plated in wreck-iron. The Ink Kraken knits itself back together in the dark. And the Maelstrom is shielded, armoured and healing all at once. FIVE CREWS, THREE TIERS EACH Deck Cannons for steady thunder. Harpooners to shred swarms at close quarters. Mortar Crews for shells that burst across the lane. Sharpshooters for long reach and a heavy bite. An Eagle Roost that dives on whatever runs deepest. Promote any crew twice, or pay it off for half its salvage back. FIRE THE BROADSIDE Damage charges the Captain's meter. When it reads FIRE, the whole lane takes a volley at once — the answer to a wave that has already slipped past your guns. SIX COMMANDERS, EVERY ONE A TRADE Sail under Isabeau Reyes for three more hull and softer guns. Under Silas Vance for a Broadside that comes round far quicker and two less hull. Under Kenji Nakamura, harpoons cost half and long barrels cost double. Six commanders, and not one of them is a straight upgrade. A NEW CHART EVERY DAY The Daily Voyage builds its chart out of the date itself, so every captain sails the same water that day with nothing downloaded. Sundays are kraken days. Beat your own mark and keep the streak alive. DEEPER WATER Take on a Trial for a bounty — half the hull, half the salvage, or the Broadside welded shut. Hold the Endless Tide for as long as you can. Then run the Kraken Gauntlet: every kraken of the voyage, back to back, nothing in between. READ THE MARKS Deeper charts send threats that are shielded, regenerating, splitting, swift or reinforced. Coloured pips on the board tell you which, and the Bestiary writes down exactly what each mark does as you meet it. REFIT THE GALLEON Crowns buy twenty permanent refits in the Armoury: a reinforced hull, a hotter cannon foundry, a deeper powder reserve, ground bronze optics and drilled gun crews. Every refit applies to every siege after it. Thirty-one honours to earn along the way. PLAY IT YOUR WAY Switch to double time whenever you like.
