Will there be light? answers the one question that decides every shoot day: will there be light — and will it stay dry? Create a shoot — location, date, time window. The app computes the sun position exactly (astronomy, on-device, for any date) and fetches the rain outlook as reliably as it can be known today. The closer the day, the sharper the answer: model forecast in hours first, radar in minutes for the last two hours. HARD LIGHT OR FLAT LIGHT? Sun position alone doesn't tell you whether the golden hour is any good — cloud cover decides. For every hour the app works out what light to expect: hard light with clear shadows, changing light, soft light or flat light with no shadows at all. What matters is which clouds are in the way: high cirrus only softens the sun, a low deck hides it. Plus gusts for the set — for the mic, reflectors and the drone. SEE IT IN THE SKY (AR) Hold up your iPhone: the sun path of the shoot day stands as an arc in the sky, your time window marked in white, plus sunrise, sunset and the moon path. At every full hour a sign shows time and rain risk — you see when it gets wet, right where the sun will be. CHECK THE SHOT Point the camera at your shot, choose lens, sensor and format: the frame guide sits perspective-correct over the camera image, and the app tells you whether the sun is in frame (backlight), coming from the side or behind you — for any time via the slider. “Save shot” stores direction, lens and a reference photo with sun path and frame. On LiDAR devices, the real surroundings cast their shadow for the chosen time. ON THE MAP 2D or photorealistic 3D terrain: sun path, sun disc with light ray, shadow arrow, moon, your saved camera wedge. Plus the daylight bar of the day (night, blue hour, golden hour, day) and the rain bar across your window. THE ANSWER — HONESTLY GRADED One sentence: “Golden Hour 7:56–9:09 PM. Elbphilharmonie, Monday 7:30 PM: dry (model forecast).” Precision follows the source. Never “dry” where there is no data. Times always in local time of the location — Lisbon or New York alike. WEATHER ALERT If the rain outlook of an upcoming shoot changes class (dry · uncertain · rain likely) or thunderstorms appear, the app notifies you — locally from the background, no server. WIDGET One widget per shoot on the Home Screen, keeps itself up to date. DATA Sun and moon: own calculation, no API.
