Store description excerpt
Your chair is 34 inches tall. The connecting leg is a CRJ-900, and the airline publishes a 31-inch maximum for a wheelchair in that aircraft's cargo hold — on a seat-map page, not on its accessibility page. It does not fit, and there was no realistic way to find that out before you got to the gate. Will It Fly collects those figures and checks your chair against the specific aircraft you are about to fly. PER LEG, NOT PER TRIP A connection usually changes aircraft. The first leg is often a big jet and fine; the second is a regional jet and is not. Add each leg and get its own verdict — a trip is only as good as its worst one. THE AIRLINE'S OWN NUMBER, EVERY TIME Every answer shows the figure the airline published, quoted word for word, with a link to the page it came from and the date it was read. If you need to have a conversation at a counter, you are holding their number, not ours. FIVE AIRLINES DISAGREE ABOUT THE SAME AEROPLANE On a CRJ-900 one airline publishes 30 inches, another 31, another a 33-inch cargo door. One airline's A321 is 25 inches narrower than everyone else's. A single type-level table — which is what every existing chart is — gets this wrong. This app keeps each airline's own figure and tells you which is which. WHAT ELSE IS IN IT • What fits — every aircraft your chair clears, across all five airlines • Damage record — how often each airline mishandles a chair, from DOT's own data • Can it go in the cabin? — the federal right to priority cabin space for a folding chair, and the aircraft where it does not apply • Battery rules from the FAA, not the airline • A handling card to print and attach to your chair • Your rights, and which ones are not enforceable yet • If it comes back damaged: how to put a claim in writing so the airline owes you an answer in 30 days • A checklist, and a script for the phone call WHAT IT WILL NOT DO It repeats what airlines publish. It does not guarantee your chair will be carried. Airlines reconfigure aircraft, swap equipment on the day, and decide at the gate which hold your chair goes in. Always confirm with the airline before you book. PRIVACY Your chair's dimensions and your itinerary stay on your device. No account, no server, no analytics. The airline data ships with the app, so it works at the gate with no signal. Available in English and Spanish. Airline quotes stay in English, because that is what you show an airline.
