Store description excerpt

ENGINEERED TO BE MORE ACCURATE Weatherkind builds a forecast for the place you are actually standing, not the grid square you happen to fall in. It fuses satellite, radar, and thousands of ground stations in real time, shapes its forecast regions around the actual terrain, and follows approaching rain minute by minute. Then it goes back and checks its own work. Every forecast is scored against real weather stations. Where it missed, Weatherkind feeds that error back into what comes next, microclimate by microclimate. A FORECAST SHOULD PROVE ITSELF Most weather apps hand you a number and hope you never check it. Weatherkind publishes its record whether it flatters us or not: typical temperature error, how often predicted rain actually showed up, and how reliability holds from the next hour to day 14. So when Weatherkind says rain at 3pm, you can see exactly how calls like that have performed where you live. THE WORLD IS NOT A GRID Most forecasts treat roughly 65 square miles as one place. A single cell in a global weather model can hold a beach town, a river valley, three ski areas, and a summit four thousand feet higher. Everyone inside it gets the same number. Weatherkind draws a different map. Instead of snapping your location to a grid square, it builds terrain-aware forecast regions that follow the ridgelines, valleys, and coastlines around your exact location, then forecasts each one on its own terms. Fog stays on the coast. Inland heat stays inland. The summit gets the summit's weather. In the mountains, pick your altitude: Valley, Mid-mountain, or Peak, and the whole day changes with it. See where rain turns to snow, where calm air turns to ridgeline wind, and what is actually waiting above tree line. PRECIPITATION, TO THE MINUTE, UP TO 2 HOURS IN ADVANCE Know when the rain starts, how hard it falls, and when it clears, up to two hours out. Automatic alerts arrive before the first drops, and a Live Activity counts down on your Lock Screen, so the warning finds you instead of waiting to be found. Weatherkind is specifically fine-tuned to predict weather events even in the most demanding terrain. So even if you are hiking in a mountain valley, Weatherkind can help. Follow storms, lightning, hail, snow, wildfire smoke, and air quality on animated maps detailed enough to watch a cell slide one valley over and miss you entirely. BUILT FOR THE HOURS THAT MATTER Hourly charts that make the dry windows obvious. A detailed 14-day outlook for the long game. Stargazing planned around cloud cover, moonlight, and dark-sky timing. Compare the trip out against the trip home before you commit to either. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Live Activities, and Apple Watch complications keep the forecast one glance away. FIFTY YEARS OF CONTEXT Is this really the wettest spring in memory, or does it just feel that way? Explore up to 50 years of local weather history, follow rain and snow surpluses and deficits, compare this year against the
