Store description excerpt
Wavelength measures the light around you and tells you whether it is helping or hurting your sleep. Point the camera at the room. Wavelength reads the melanopic light – the part of light that sets your body clock – and gives you a verdict: this light is shifting your sleep earlier, or later, or not at all, and how long that lasts. FREE The live light meter, the verdict on the light you are in, and a nightly reminder to dim the lights. WITH A SUBSCRIPTION (7-DAY FREE TRIAL) Set the wake-up time you want. Wavelength plans your day: when to get bright light, when to avoid it, and when to sleep, so your body clock moves to the new time and stays there. The same plan handles shift work and jet lag. THE ONLY APP THAT DOES BOTH Light-meter apps give you a number. Sleep-coaching apps give you a plan. Wavelength measures the light you are actually in and coaches your real schedule. No wearable. FALL ASLEEP ON TIME See the moment evening light starts keeping you up, and get a reminder to dim the lights. JET LAG Set where you are going. Wavelength tells you when to get daylight and when to avoid it, before and after the flight, so you adjust faster. SHIFT WORK Move your sleep to fit your shifts, and see whether the light you are in is working with you or against you. REMINDERS A notification when each light window opens, so you can plan a walk or a wind-down around it. BASED ON PUBLISHED RESEARCH Wavelength follows the expert-consensus light recommendations of Brown et al. (2022, PLOS Biology) and the light response curves of St Hilaire et al. (2012) and Hannay et al. (2019). Research links well-timed light to better sleep, mood, and focus. Wavelength supports sleep and circadian alignment; it does not diagnose or treat any medical condition. WHAT YOU NEED An iPhone with a camera. Camera readings are approximate, not lab-grade, and that is enough to answer the question that matters: is this light helping or hurting my sleep right now?
