Store description excerpt
Wangka Kutju is a Pintupi-Luritja word meaning 'one language'. It has been developed by a group of native speakers to provide digital translation between English and Pintupi-Luritja. Speak full sentences in one language, then hear your translation spoken in the other language. Features include: - Speech recognition: Recognises spoken sentences in Pintupi-Luritja or English. - Text-to-speech: Listen to Pintupi-Luritja sentences spoken by male or female native speakers - 3D hand gestures: Translation is accompanied by CGI models who demonstrate Pintupi-Luritja sign language - Sentence analysis: See the translation broken up into individual words and their parts with detailed explanations. - Weather forecast: View animated weather forecasts for the towns of Alice Springs, Papunya, Mt. Liebig and Kintore - Posts: Read the latest bilingual posts from Central Desert organisations - User feedback: rate and correct each translation. Your feedback will teach the machine to translate better in the future. Wangka Kutju was developed through a collaboration between Highway Learning and the Western Desert owned Nganampa Walytja Palyantjaku Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation. Funding was provided through the Department of Communications and Arts, as well as the National Indigenous Australians Agency
