Store description excerpt

WakeMe is an alarm clock for people who sleep through alarm clocks. Most alarms ask you to tap one button while half asleep. You tap it, you go back to sleep, you wake up late. WakeMe makes you actually wake up — and then checks that you did. IT RINGS. THAT'S THE POINT. Your alarms live on your phone, not on a server. That means: • No internet needed. On a plane, in a basement, on a dead SIM — it rings. • No account needed. Skip the sign-in and start using it. • Survives a restart, an app update, and being force-stopped. • Guided setup walks you through the permissions Android needs, so an alarm is never silently blocked. If Android ever blocks exact alarms, WakeMe tells you plainly instead of pretending the alarm is set. MAKE YOURSELF PROVE IT Pick how hard it is to shut up: • Maths — solve a problem before it stops. Easy, medium or hard. • Shake — shake your phone until you're awake. • Tap — for mornings you can be trusted. THE BACKUP ALARM Dismissing an alarm proves you touched your phone. It does not prove you got up. Turn on Backup Alarm and WakeMe asks "still awake?" five minutes after you dismiss. Don't answer, and it rings again. If you've clearly been using your phone, it stays quiet and leaves you alone. It's per-alarm, so you can put it on the one morning you genuinely cannot miss. QUICK NAPS Four one-tap presets for a nap or a timer — 5, 10, 30, 60 minutes, or set your own. There's a home screen widget too, so a nap is one tap from your launcher. SOUNDS THAT SUIT YOU Built-in alarm tones, anything from your own music library, or a system ringtone. Volume fades in gradually so you're woken, not startled. REPEAT, YOUR WAY Weekdays, weekends, every day, or any combination of days. Set it once and forget it — repeating alarms roll forward on their own. SLEEP AND HABITS • A gentle bedtime nudge when it's time to wind down • A heads-up ten minutes before your alarm • Sleep length tracked from when you dismiss your alarm • A weekly recap of how you actually slept HANDS-FREE Set alarms by voice, or ask Google Assistant to do it for you. WHY WAKEME ASKS FOR PERMISSIONS Android is strict about alarms, and rightly so. Here's what each one is for: • Alarms & reminders — lets an alarm ring at the exact minute you set. Without it, 7:00 becomes "sometime around 7". • Notifications — shows the alarm screen so you can turn it off. • Battery optimisation — stops your phone quietly muting an alarm overnight. • Full screen & display over apps — lets the alarm take over the screen when the phone is locked. • Usage access — optional, used only to work out how long you slept. It never leaves your phone. You can skip any of them and still use the app. Sign in if you'd like your alarms backed up to your Google account. It's entirely optional — nothing about whether your alarm rings depends on it. Set it tonight. See what happens in the morning.
