# Voxels Viewer ### Viewports & layout - Four viewports: **XY**, **YZ**, **XZ** slices and an interactive **3D** view. - Two 2×2 layouts via **View → Layout**: **Classic** and **Engineering** - Maximize/restore any single viewport. When a 2D viewport is maximized, a small **3D picture-in-picture** preview appears in the corner - Per-axis slice slider for each 2D view, with a synced numeric spinbox showing the slice position in **millimetres** (range/step derived from the voxel size). - A lock button to sync zoom/pan and crosshair coordinate lines across the 2D viewports; lock state is remembered between sessions. - **Coordinate lines** toggle (per 2D viewport, linked across all three). When unlocked, the line for the slider you move appears and auto-hides after a few seconds; when locked, all coordinate lines stay pinned. - **Clipping plane** toggle — a 3-state button (**Off / Clip Left / Clip Right**) - **View → Voxels Interpolation** - Orientation tripod overlay in each viewport. ### Histogram & windowing - Live histogram whose bars are shaded by their mapped gray value (black below the window minimum, white above the maximum). - A single **Window** range slider, plus draggable red dots on the histogram (drag horizontally to set the window — synced with the slider). - **Auto Min Max**: drag a rectangle in any 2D viewport to set the window from the min/max inside it. An on-screen hint shows while active; press **Esc** to exit. Windowing updates in real time. ### Measurements (2D viewports) - Dropdown tool with **Distance**, **Angle**, and **Diameter**, with live values in millimetres (computed from the voxel size). Yellow, draggable, with grab handles; they pan/zoom with the image and clear on slice/alignment changes. ### Gray-value tools (2D viewports) - **Gray Value Picker** — a draggable crosshair showing live X/Y/Z coordinates and the gray value (shown as a plain integer for integer datasets). - **Gray Value Profile** — a draggable line with a live intensity plot drawn above it (with Y-axis tick labels). **Right-click** the profile to export the samples to **CSV**. ### 3D view - **Isosurface** or **Phong Volume** rendering; - **Coordinate planes** — colour-coded slice planes (**red** = YZ, **green** = XZ, **blue** = XY) - **Clipping** — the Clip Left / Clip Right buttons on the 2D viewports cut away the corresponding half of the rendered volume or isosurface, live and independently per axis (display-only). - Free turntable rotation (no pole flipping / inversion). - Right-click → **Quality**: **Low** / **Default** / **High** render resolution. ### Alignment (non-destructive, view-time) - **Operations → Alignment → Simple Alignment…** — rotate/translate with a live preview. - **Operations → Alignment → 3-2-1 Alignment…** — pick a plane, a line, and an origin to align to the standard frame. ### Import / projects - **File → Import → Import Slice Files…** (TIFF or raw) and **Import Volume…** (TIF
