See exactly where your Mac's watts go — and understand your battery properly. Voltway draws a live, animated power-flow diagram of your Mac: how many watts are coming out of the wall, how many the Mac is drawing, and whether the battery is charging or supplying. Then it opens up the battery data macOS keeps to itself. THE POWER FLOW DIAGRAM Watch power move in real time between the adapter, your Mac and the battery. Flow thickness and particle speed track real wattage, so a heavy charge looks different from an idle desk at a glance. Voltway also shows the USB-C Power Delivery ladder your adapter advertises and which profile was actually negotiated. It is drawn honestly. Each flow is measured independently, so Voltway says plainly that the figures are not expected to add up exactly — and it never shows your adapter's label rating as if it were live draw. A 96W adapter feeding an idle Mac is delivering about 7W, and Voltway tells you so. BATTERY FORENSICS • THREE HEALTH NUMBERS, RECONCILED — macOS genuinely reports three different figures for one battery. Voltway shows all three and explains why they differ, instead of hiding the ones that disagree. • LEARNED CAPACITY (Qmax) per cell — what the fuel gauge has actually measured your cells can hold, and how recently it re-learned. • CELL VOLTAGES AND IMPEDANCE — impedance growth is an earlier warning of degradation than capacity fade, and almost nothing surfaces it. • CYCLES — against the 1000-cycle rating these packs actually carry. • TEMPERATURE — now, plus the lifetime average, maximum and minimum. • TIME AT HIGH CHARGE — how long your pack has sat above 80%, measured by Voltway itself. CHARGE CONTROL (optional) Limiting charge means writing to your Mac's system power controller, which needs privileges a Mac App Store app is not allowed to request. So Voltway keeps that work in a small, separate, notarized helper you install yourself — the App Store app never escalates and never installs anything. With the helper you can hold a limit below 80%, set separate upper and lower thresholds, and run from the adapter without charging. It fails safe by design: it restores normal charging if Voltway stops talking to it, if the battery gets low or hot, on quit, and even if it crashes. Voltway also detects when macOS's own 80% limit is what is holding your battery, so you are never confused about which limit is acting. WHAT VOLTWAY WILL NOT CLAIM No Mac exposes a charge-rate control, so Voltway does not pretend to slow your charger. It does not show "cycles saved", because that is not honestly computable, and it does not repeat the folklore about charging to 80%.
