Vodun Heritage is a pocket-sized, entirely offline encyclopedia dedicated to the Vodun deities and major spiritual traditions of Benin. Designed to be clear, respectful, and faithful to the sources, the app provides access to documentary knowledge that is usually scattered, brought together in a carefully curated experience that works offline and without ads. WHAT YOU WILL FIND • Detailed profiles of deities: function, cultural origin (Fon-Adja, Yoruba-Nago, and Northern regions), attested territories in Benin, ritual colors, symbols, and cited sources. • A pantheon organized by domains and powers, with documented stories. • An interactive map of Benin showing the centers of worship and heritage sites (including Ouidah and the Vodun Days). • A timeline and historical sections tracing the origins and spread of Vodun. • A "News" feed focusing on the January 10th celebrations and Vodun Days. OUR METHOD Each entry is a faithful transcription of sourced research: no claims are fabricated. The content is based on public domain or Creative Commons licensed sources, with proper attribution. When a document is missing—for example, an unconfirmed location in Benin—the deity is omitted rather than attempting to fill the gap.
