Village Hall Hub puts your hall's diary, its safety checks and its unpaid invoices in your pocket. It is for the people who actually run a village hall or community building - the booking secretary, the treasurer, the caretaker, the trustees - and it is built for how that job really works. You need an account on villagehallhub.co.uk to use this app. It shows your own hall's information and nothing else. WHAT YOU CAN DO Today See what is on in the hall today, what safety checks are overdue, and how much the hall is owed - all on one screen, the moment you open it. The diary Look at any day's bookings. Confirm an enquiry, or call a booking off. Add a new booking, with the room, the hirer and the times, and be told straight away if it clashes with something already in the diary. The money See every unpaid invoice, oldest and most overdue first. Record a cheque, cash or a bank transfer the moment somebody hands it over, before it is forgotten. The app fills in the full amount and today's date, so recording a payment in full is one tap. Safety checks See what is due and what has gone past, with the ones required by law marked as such. Record a check as done in seconds - it opens with today's date, your name and "passed" already filled in. The rest of it Your hirers and how to reach them. Your rooms and what each one costs. Who is on the committee, their phone numbers and when their terms end. The hall's paperwork, with anything expired at the top. And closing the hall for a burst pipe, snow, or a week of redecorating. IT WORKS WHERE THE SIGNAL DOES NOT Village halls are famous for thick walls, and the parts of the building where the fire extinguishers live are usually the worst of them. Record a safety check or a payment with no signal and the app keeps it, tells you it has, and sends it by itself when you are back in range. Nothing is lost and nothing has to be typed twice. If something cannot be sent, the app says so plainly rather than letting you believe money reached the books when it has not. FOR HIRERS TOO If you hire a hall that uses Village Hall Hub, the same app is yours as well. Tap the link in the email your hall sent you, put in your four-digit PIN, and you can see your own bookings, what you owe, download your invoices, and ask about booking again. You will not see anybody else's. BUILT TO BE READABLE Most people running a village hall are volunteers, and a good many are reading a phone in a badly lit hall without their glasses. So the text starts larger than most apps and grows when you turn your phone's text size up. Every button is big enough to hit with cold hands. Nothing is ever said with colour alone - "Overdue" says Overdue, not just red. And the whole app follows your phone's dark mode. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO It does not take card payments, and it does not show adverts. It does not track you around the internet.
