V2X2MAP turns an ESP32-C5 Wi-Fi sniffer into a live map for ITS-G5 (5.9 GHz, IEEE 802.11p) vehicle-to-everything radio messages. Connect the hardware via USB-OTG or Bluetooth LE and see nearby vehicles, hazard warnings, and traffic-light phases in real time. FEATURES • Live OSM map with vehicle markers, heading arrows, and speed labels • Radar view with concentric range rings and bearing vectors • Live packet log grouped by station, with message type, RSSI, distance, and timestamp • Max Range Mode: track and export the furthest received ITS-G5 packet (CSV) • DENM hazard alerts with cause code and distance • SPATEM traffic-light phase indicator (green wave speed suggestion) • MAPEM intersection geometry overlay • MQTT forwarding to opentrafficmap.org or your own broker • PCAP recording (Wireshark compatible, link type IEEE 802.11) • Offline map tile pre-download • Works fully offline — no cloud account required HARDWARE REQUIRED The app requires an ESP32-C5 ITS-G5 sniffer (open hardware, e.g. the Waveshare ESP32-C5-WIFI6-KIT). A built-in setup wizard flashes the firmware onto the board directly from your phone over USB — no PC and no command line required. NOTE: Receiving 5.9 GHz ITS-G5 radio data may be subject to national telecommunications law. You are responsible for compliant use in your jurisdiction.
