UFA Budget tracks what a family spends from an education scholarship or savings account, per child, with the receipt attached to the purchase. It was built for Utah families managing a Utah Fits All Scholarship award, and it works the same way for a Carson Smith ESA, a 529, an outside scholarship, or your own cash, in any combination. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE There is no account and no sign-in. There is nothing to create, nothing to verify, and no server holding your records, because the app does not have one. That also means no ads and no subscription. Keep a backup file once your year has real numbers in it: if the app is deleted, its data goes with it. A CHILD, A SOURCE, A CATEGORY Set up each child once with the money available to them. Every purchase comes off the source you point it at, so a curriculum order billed to the scholarship and a field trip paid in cash never mix. Sources carry their own category limits, in dollars or in percent, and the app warns you as you type when a purchase would push a category past its cap. ONE PURCHASE, SEVERAL CHILDREN A shared expense can go in three ways: the full amount to each child, one amount split evenly between them, or a repeating charge that rotates through them. A $60 internet bill becomes twelve monthly rows, four per child. The app shows you exactly what it is about to save before it saves it. PLANNED PURCHASES A future-dated entry counts as upcoming rather than spent, so it holds its place against the balance and against its category cap without pretending the money is already gone. Tap "Bought it" when it arrives. RECEIPTS Photograph a receipt from the expense form, or add photos to the Receipts screen before you know which purchase they belong to and attach them later. They stay in the app's own storage on the device. BRING WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE Import a CSV from the spreadsheet you already keep. Columns are matched by name, with a mapping step when one cannot be placed, and rows matching something already stored are counted and skipped by default. Import an Odyssey export to fill in the year's purchases and set up each child's award and carryover at the same time. SPENDING OVER THE YEAR The dashboard charts what the family has left, month by month, with planned and repeating spending projected forward. Program years run July through June, unspent balances roll into the next one, and last year's funding sources renew in a tap. REIMBURSEMENTS Mark an expense requested, reimbursed or denied, so a purchase you have submitted is never confused with one that has settled. BACKUP AND EXPORT One file holds children, funding sources, categories, expenses and receipt photos. Restoring it merges rather than overwrites, so bringing a backup onto a phone that already has entries does not erase them. CSV export is there when you want a spreadsheet.
