Connect a television or a projector and the optotypes appear there at calibrated size. Your iPhone becomes the wireless remote: set acuity, shuffle the characters, switch tests – all from the iPhone, without touching the iPad. — WHAT YOU GET All common optotypes for distance and near vision: · Snellen letters · Landolt rings (8 orientations) · Sloan letters · Numbers · Tumbling E · Children's symbols Special tests: · Amsler grid · Red-green test · Schober test · Cross cylinder · Radial dial · Near vision test with reading charts Full control over the presentation: · Test distances 2.0 – 6.0 m, in 0.1 m steps · Acuity levels 0.05 – 2.0 (15 steps) · One or two rows · Shuffle for fresh random characters · Digital spirit level for aligning the iPad — EXTERNAL DISPLAY If there is a television or a projector in the room, it takes over the optotypes – by cable or by screen mirroring. The big screen shows only the optotypes: no acuity box, no button bar, nothing the patient is not meant to see. The iPad remains your control panel. Sizes are measured, not guessed. Calibrate the screen once using an ordinary bank card or the screen diagonal – from then on the app knows its pixel density and derives every character size from the test distance you set. The refraction screen and the near vision test drive the external display. The special tests stay on the iPad. — IPHONE AS A REMOTE CONTROL The UbiVision app on your iPhone finds the iPad on the same network by itself – no manual setup, no Bluetooth pairing. Run the whole refraction from the iPhone: · Acuity up and down · Shuffle the optotypes · Switch tests and optotype sets · Adjust the presentation On a home visit an iPhone hotspot is enough. No internet connection required. — PROFESSIONAL CALCULATORS ON IPHONE Five tools for everyday practice, always at hand – even with no iPad nearby: · Vertex distance conversion · Acuity ↔ logMAR ↔ Snellen · Resolving and combining prisms · Adding obliquely crossed cylinders · Vertical prism compensation (Prentice) All calculations run locally on the device. — ALSO FOR APPLE TV If your examination room is set up permanently, UbiVision TV is available as a separate app on the App Store.
