Store description excerpt
Your photos remember exactly where you stood. Ubimage puts them back there. Raise your phone and look at the landscape: the photos you have already taken appear as pins on the real horizon, each one where it was shot. The peak across the valley, the street two blocks away, the coastline you walked last summer. Distance and elevation are respected, so a mountain twenty kilometers out sits high and far, and a photo taken on the corner sits close and low. WHAT IT DOES Live camera view Your geo-tagged photos and videos are anchored to the real landscape using the compass, the accelerometers and the altitude of the place they were taken. Turn around and the pins stay where the places are. Distance and elevation filters Keep only what is far away, and the foreground clutter disappears. Isolate the summits, and everything below goes quiet. A histogram shows where your photos actually are, with the name of the place written above each bar. Clusters that make sense Photos and videos from the same place group into a single pin. Photos in the same direction but at very different distances stay separate, so a town on the horizon is never mixed with a street around the corner. Shot direction Open a photo and the map shows a cone pointing where the camera was aimed, widened to the real angle of view of that shot. Panoramas open wide, telephoto shots stay narrow. Compare it with the cone showing where you are looking now. Browse a place by facing Open a spot you have shot many times and a flat compass filters its photos by the direction the camera was pointing. Scroll through only the ones shot looking a chosen way, S 174°, or the ones shot back toward where you are standing now. Favorites and map Mark the places worth returning to and see them all together on a map. Photo details Coordinates, altitude, distance, bearing and the difference in height between you and the shot, in your units. Coordinates can be copied with one tap and pasted into your trekking app of choice, so you can work out the best way to actually get there. PRIVACY Your photos never leave your phone. Ubimage has no account, no sign up and no server: it reads the location already stored in your own library and does the geometry on the device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is tracked. You can also give access to a selected set of photos only, and add more later from Settings. MADE FOR Hikers who want to know which summit they are looking at. Tourists back in a city, finding the landmark they photographed last time and walking straight to it. Anglers returning to the exact spot where they landed the big one: open water has no landmarks, but the photo taken on the boat does. Climbers checking an approach they have already photographed. Orienteers reading terrain against the map: a feature you have photographed comes back at its true bearing and distance, right on the landscape in front of you. Anyone who has ten thousand photos and no memory of where half of them are. LANGUAGES AND UN
