Typewriter Cabinet is a private, local-first collection and service passport for vintage typewriter owners, collectors, and restorers. Organize your machines on a visual Cabinet Worktable, grouped by real status - Ready to Type, Needs Ribbon, Needs Cleaning, Needs Repair, or Sold/Loaned - so you always know which machines need attention. For each machine, keep a complete passport: - Identity & specs - make, model, year estimate, serial number, body style, keyboard layout, color - Typeface specimen - a photo and typed sample of your machine's actual typeface, plus alignment, impression, and ribbon notes - Service timeline - a real chronological history of cleanings, ribbon changes, platen work, escapement adjustments, and repairs, each with date, category, cost, shop, and before/after photos - Acquisition & provenance - where and when you got it, what it cost, estate notes, ownership history, and any sale or loan records - entirely in your own words - Handoff completeness - a clear checklist of what's documented and what's missing, so a machine is ready to sell, loan, or pass on with full records (this is a completeness indicator only - never an appraisal, valuation, or authenticity claim) Search and filter your whole collection by make, model, serial number, typeface, condition, or service category.
