Store description excerpt
Baton turns your phone into the remote for your TV. Big buttons, one screen, nothing to learn. It also does something a plastic remote can't. The sound from the TV can move into your headphones, so you can watch a film at two in the morning and nobody else has to hear it. And when the TV asks you to type something, you use the keyboard you already know instead of picking out letters one by one on the screen. WHAT IT DOES - A big d-pad with OK, back and home - Volume up, volume down and mute - Play, pause, rewind and skip - Trackpad mode: swipe instead of tapping the arrows - Type with your phone keyboard - Sound in your headphones, straight from the TV - Every app on your TV in one list, one tap to open it - A help chat inside the app, answered with the help of an AI assistant WORKS WITH One family of streaming TVs and players, not every brand. Checking yours takes a minute: open the app on the same Wi-Fi as the TV, and if the app can control your TV, the TV shows up in the list by itself. This is a network remote, not an infrared one, so the phone and the TV have to be on the same Wi-Fi. HOW TO SET IT UP Put the phone and the TV on the same Wi-Fi. Turn the TV on. Open the app and tap Start. The app asks once to let it see your TV on the network, then finds the TV by itself. If it doesn't, you can type the TV address by hand. There is no account and nothing to sign up for. SOUND IN YOUR HEADPHONES Plug in headphones, or connect wireless ones. Turn it on, and the sound leaves the TV and plays on your phone instead. The room stays quiet. Take the headphones out and the sound goes back to the TV. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO No accounts. No ads. No tracking. Usage stats stay off until you turn them on, and you can turn them back off any time.
