Requires an iPhone with a LiDAR scanner — iPhone 12 Pro or a later Pro model. Where should the TV go? Decide once, with your own room measured, instead of moving it three times and living with the reflection. TV Glare & Placement scans your room with the LiDAR scanner, finds the lights and windows in it, and shows you — on your own walls, in augmented reality — which spots reflect light into the screen and which do not. Green is good. Red is not. HOW IT WORKS • Turn slowly on the spot. The app builds a 3D model of your walls, windows and furniture. • It finds your light sources automatically — lamps, ceiling fixtures, daylight from windows — and you can add or remove any by hand. • Place your TV and set its size. • Light from every source is traced to the screen using a physically based reflection model, then painted onto your walls where you can see it. WHAT THE FULL REPORT ADDS • Your Glare Risk Index, and how much of the glare your furniture and walls are already blocking. • What each light contributes. Usually one lamp is responsible for nearly all of it — the report names which. • An hour-by-hour daylight timeline: when the sun could reflect off the screen today, from your windows' orientation and the sun's path. • Recommendations you can act on tonight. Optional anonymous diagnostics can be switched on in Settings; they never include images, your location, or your room layout. A note on honesty: the Glare Risk Index is relative. Use it to compare spots and lighting setups within the same room — it is not a measured brightness and is not comparable between rooms.
