The tour bus app maps the extent of foreign tour buses' presence and extent of driving in Norway. From 1 January 2024, Norway introduced new rules for the control of passenger transport cabotage. Cabotage is transport between two places in a state other than where the carrier is domiciled. Cabotage driving in Norway takes place in practice when a foreign bus picks up and drops off passengers within Norway's borders. Today, a foreign tour bus can operate legal cabotage in Norway for periods of a maximum of 20 consecutive days, and a maximum of 30 days in total per calendar year. After a few years of pandemic and low activity, foreign tour bus operators now find it very attractive to operate illegal cabotage in Norway. Weak enforcement and control by the authorities means a low detection risk. We need increased knowledge about which countries and foreign tour bus companies operate the most in Norway. In the Turbus app, the following is recorded: - The vehicle's country of registration - The vehicle's registration number - Time - Place You will be able to see an overview of your registrations and the total number of registrations inside the app. Registrations made in the app are anonymous and no sensitive personal data shall be documented either for the users or those registered in this app. The data base generated here will be used as documentation in NHO Transport's dialogue with the media and authorities. All registrations are therefore valuable contributions to this work.
