Store description excerpt
The average family of four throws away about $2,913 of food a year (EPA). TossCost shows you your number. Scan a grocery receipt. TossCost reads the items — no typing, no barcodes. When something ends up in the trash, swipe it and say how much. The dashboard adds up what your waste costs: by item, by reason, by category, week over week. There's no pantry inventory to maintain. Other food-waste apps ask you to log everything you buy and keep a live list current; that list drifts out of date within weeks and the app stops being useful. TossCost only needs the receipt you already have and a swipe for the things you actually tossed. A gentle Sunday check-in asks one question: did anything get tossed this week? Answer in a few taps. Weeks where nothing went in the trash take one. YOUR DATA No account. Your receipts and history are stored on your device and synced through your own private iCloud — we can't see them. Receipt photos are read by the parser and immediately discarded, never stored. WHAT IT COSTS Scanning, toss logging, the dashboard, and the weekly check-in are free. TossCost Pro is an optional subscription with more monthly scans and deeper insight cards.
