Store description excerpt
Tonscape is a precise sine-wave tone generator and real-time spectrum analyzer in one clean app. Dial in any frequency your iPhone can actually produce — from 0.01 Hz up to the hardware Nyquist limit (around 24,000 Hz) — typed to two decimal places or swept with a logarithmic slider. Set the exact pitch you need, control the volume up to full output, and play a pure, continuous sine tone. Then prove it. The built-in microphone spectrum analyzer captures sound in real time and shows you the full frequency spectrum on a live, neon display. A single-frequency detector measures the exact level at any frequency you choose, and a noise-floor comparison tells you whether that frequency is genuinely present above the background — even faint signals buried in noise, thanks to spectral averaging. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Generate exact frequencies to 0.01 Hz, only the ones your device can truly produce - Adjust volume from silent to full power - See a live, averaging FFT spectrum analyzer with peak-hold - Tap the spectrum to probe any frequency independently of the tone you're playing - Get a clear "present / not detected" readout with dB-over-noise - Identify your iPhone model and its estimated speaker range RELAX & SLEEP (Pro) - Binaural beats and isochronic tones with brainwave-band presets (delta, theta, alpha, beta) - White, pink, and brown noise generators - Nature sounds: ocean, rain, wind, stream, campfire - Sleep timer with gentle fade-out, plus background playback so it keeps going with the screen off - One-tap presets: Schumann/earth resonance, Solfeggio, and tuning references SOUND DESIGN (Pro) - Sine, square, triangle, and sawtooth waveforms - Chords and a logarithmic frequency sweep GREAT FOR - Sleep, relaxation, focus, and meditation soundscapes - Testing speakers, headphones, and subwoofers - Checking whether a specific frequency is present in a room or signal - Audio education, tuning references, and equipment checks Note: binaural beats require headphones. Labels for resonance/Solfeggio presets are descriptive only — the app makes no medical or therapeutic claims. Tiny phone speakers roll off at very low and very high frequencies, so some tones may be inaudible through the built-in speaker even though the signal is generated correctly — use headphones or external speakers for the full range.
