Store description excerpt

Tideon is your pocket gear workshop — design spur gears and mechanisms in seconds, solve ratios, trace involute tooth profiles, and watch every mesh come alive with real-time animation. Whether you're a mechanical engineer sketching a new gearbox, a student exploring gear theory, or a maker refining a drive train, Tideon puts the full power of gear mathematics at your fingertips — offline, always. GEARS THAT ACTUALLY MESH Drag the module and tooth-count sliders in the Studio and watch a meshing pair spin and update live. Tideon's geometry engine computes true involute flanks — not polygon approximations — so the tooth profile you see is the profile you'd cut. An undercut warning fires automatically when your tooth count dips below the safe threshold. Zoom into the Tooth Profile view to inspect base, pitch, and addendum circles in full detail. EVERY MECHANISM, SOLVED Chain together as many gears as you need in Gear Train view: per-gear speeds animate as bars, total reduction is always live, and direction arrows show which gears spin which way. Switch to Mechanisms for planetary sets, worm drives, rack-and-pinion, and bevel gears — hold or drive any member and the maths update instantly. The Torque & Speed screen plots the full trade-off curve across your chain so you never accidentally exceed a limit. YOURS, OFFLINE Type a target ratio and Tideon ranks tooth-count pairs by percentage error so you can pick the closest practical match. Export a Spec Card — overlay live specs on a shot from your camera or photo library and save it back to your photos. Bench mode puts two saved builds side by side with a visual diff; History keeps every build you've ever made in a rich, scrollable gallery. • True involute tooth geometry (not polygon approximations) • Planetary, worm, rack & bevel mechanism library • Ratio solver with ranked error table • Torque & speed trade-off curve • Spec Card photo export • Bench comparison of any two builds • Pressure angle (14.5° / 20° / 25°) and mm / inch units • No account, no network, no location — ever
