Thunder Range turns the seconds in between into an approximate distance, answering the question everyone asks when a storm rolls in: how far away was that? Your taps record the delay between flash and thunder, and Thunder Range uses that time and the speed of sound to estimate the distance. It is an educational estimation tool. It does not detect lightning, does not monitor storms, and does not send weather warnings or emergency alerts. All results are approximate. Features - Simple two-tap measurement: tap when you see the lightning flash, tap when you hear the thunder - Distance estimates in kilometers or miles - Adjust the default temperature and humidity assumptions to reflect current conditions - Keep a history of your measurements to look back on - Share your measurement results whenever you choose - A second mode for other events you can first see and then hear, such as fireworks Free and Premium You can make up to 3 measurements per day for free. Premium is a monthly auto-renewable subscription that unlocks unlimited measurements. A 3-day free trial may be available to eligible users.
