"Thinning Chorus" is a sound art app designed to allow you to listen to and see how the sounds of birds at dawn gradually disappear from the land. Houses increase, roads lengthen, and people gather. In exchange for these changes, birds leave the land one by one. This app reconstructs this thinning dawn chorus using bird distribution records and algorithms. The appearance of dawn varies greatly from place to place. Some places lose their voices, others are filled with different sounds, and some remain almost unchanged. This stillness, this liveliness—these may be different from what they were just a short while ago. Listen carefully to this small chorus.
