Plant a tree and leave your phone alone. Lock it, pocket it, put it face down — the tree keeps growing. Open something else and it dies. That is the whole idea, and it works because the stake is real. WHAT GROWS Every finished session becomes a tree in your grove. Days fill up, months fill out, and a year of attention turns into somewhere you can actually look at. Twenty species across six regions, and you cannot buy a single one. Each is earned by focusing — some by total hours, some by finishing long sessions, some found by chance in the ones over ninety minutes. Your trees, your garden, all of it earned. Pinch a grove to look closer. Everything is drawn again as you go, so it stays sharp all the way in, and the shapes you earned are worth looking at. A GARDEN YOU ARRANGE Seeds come from finishing sessions, and they buy things to put in your grove — a bench, a pond, a fire pit, a deer that only visits a forest left alone. Eighteen of them. A thing you place belongs to the day you placed it, so every grove ends up different, and you can buy the same bench again next week for another day. Hold anything to pick it up and move it wherever you like. It stays where you put it. THE APPS THAT ALWAYS WIN Pick the ones you cannot be trusted around. While a tree is growing they do not open, and the moment the session ends — finished or given up on — they open again. No schedules, no standing block, nothing left switched on behind you. You choose them in Apple's own picker, which means Thicket is never told which apps you picked. It only knows how many. Free, like everything else here that matters. DAY AND NIGHT After dark the grove gets a moon, stars and moonlight on the leaves. Not a dark mode — a time of day. It follows your phone, or you can hold it at night all day if you like. LOCKING YOUR PHONE IS FOCUSING Most focus apps cannot tell putting your phone down apart from picking up another app. Thicket can. A locked screen is exactly what it asks of you, so nothing is lost. Wandering into another app is what it is there to stop — and you get a warning with time to come back.
