Store description excerpt
Swoosh is a revolutionary custom keyboard designed from the ground up for people with Parkinson's and single-finger typing in general. By displaying only half of the keyboard at a time, Swoosh provides massive, easy-to-hit keys that drastically reduce typos and typing fatigue. Powered by a predictive engine, Swoosh attempts to automatically switch between the left and right halves of the keyboard based on the letter you are most likely to type next, if it is wrong just slide (Swoosh) you finger across the keyboard and keep typing. It learns your personal vocabulary entirely on-device, ensuring your data stays private while the predictions get smarter every day. Swoosh was specifically engineered with accessibility in mind. For users with motor difficulties, Parkinson's, Tardive Dyskinesia, and other movement disorders that make standard smartphone keyboards frustrating and imprecise. It is so hard to have an app for tracking symptoms or others but have to use the same tiny keyboard to use it. Swoosh solves this with generous tap zones, conservative swipe (swoosh) detection, and a continuous voice-input mode that allows you to pick up exactally where you left off after a pause mid-sentence. No voice input is perfect and normal keyboards often pickup the tinyest mistakes but a combination of the two make for better messages, letters, and prompts. Key Features: • Half-QWERTY Layout: Only half the keyboard is shown at once, making keys more than twice as large as standard keyboards. There is also an elaborate Venn Diagram lattace connecting the keys giving they another 20% larger tap zone. The keyboard also gives the user a mathmatical advantage for a perferred perdicted letter. • Smart Auto-Switching: The keyboard attempts to predict your next letter and automatically flips to the correct half of the keyboard, and if it is wrong is it a simple Swoosh to the other half. • Continuous Voice Input: A specialized voice dictation mode that keeps track of where you were through pauses and silence, perfect for users who need to gather their thoughts while speaking. Just a click and your on your way again. • On-Device Learning: Swoosh learns your unique vocabulary and typing patterns locally, it gets smarter. Your personal dictionary never leaves your device. There is also a "Make Swoosh Smarter" card in the settings menu if you don't want to wait for it to learn you, and a delete word feature for mistakes. • Quick Emoji Panel: Access a curated, two-page grid of large, easy-to-tap emojis with a single swipe. • Swoosh makes other Parkinson's apps better because you don't have to rely on GBoard, swipe, Samsung. These are great keyboards but not make for people like us. Swoosh is always free and will remain 100% functional. If it helps you type better, and your inspired, you can remove the "support us" link that appears once in a while, with a single, one-time support offering of $4.99. Otherwise simply click the "Maybe later" link to enjoy Swoosh f
