Tethera is a handwriting notebook built around your coursework. Connect Canvas and every course arrives with its own notebook, every deadline sorted by how much it is actually worth. Record the lecture while you write, then tap any word on the page to hear what was being said at the moment you wrote it. Import a lecture PDF and write straight onto it — your ink is a layer, and the original slides stay untouched. Your notes are encrypted end to end, so nobody can read them — including us. WRITTEN FOR APPLE PENCIL A pressure- and tilt-sensitive ink engine with a fountain pen, ballpoint, pencil and highlighter. Lasso to move, resize and rotate your writing. Zoom in close or out past the page. Photograph a slide straight onto the paper and write over it. YOUR DEADLINES, WEIGHTED Tethera reads your courses and due dates from Canvas and sorts them by what they cost you, not just by date. Break a deadline into steps and mark where each one is handed in — Canvas, Gradescope, Coursemology, wherever your course puts it. Add tasks of your own that Canvas will never know about. Set a task to repeat — weekly readings, fortnightly problem sets — and the next one appears as you tick the last one off. Subscribe to your deadlines in Apple Calendar or Google Calendar. NOTES TIED TO THE WORK A note is linked to the assignment it belongs to, not just filed near it. When Canvas forgets an assignment, your notes on it stay readable. SEARCH YOUR HANDWRITING Find a word you wrote by hand. Recognition runs entirely on your iPad using Apple's built-in text recognition — what it reads never leaves your device. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Notes are encrypted on your device before they are backed up, with a key kept in your iCloud Keychain. Your Canvas access token never leaves your device. Tethera has read-only access to Canvas: it never submits work, posts comments, or changes anything in your courses. No ads, no tracking, no analytics. WORKS WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT No sign-up required.
