Tessera is a mosaic maker for iPhone that does the job properly and then gets out of the way. Free. No in-app purchases, no subscription, no paid tier holding features back. Pick a layout, drop in photos, adjust the grout, export at full resolution. That's the whole app. NO WATERMARK, EVER There is no free tier and no paid tier — just the app. Your mosaic is your mosaic. FULL RESOLUTION EXPORT Export up to 4096 x 4096, and see the actual pixel size and file weight before you commit. Most collage apps quietly cap you at 1080px unless you pay. Tessera has nothing to sell you. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE There is no account to create, no cloud to sync to, and no networking code in the app at all. No ads, no analytics, no tracking. YOUR MOSAICS STAY EDITABLE Tessera saves which photos you used and what you did to them, never a flattened image. A mosaic you made in March is still fully editable in December. Most apps flatten on export, so re-editing means starting again. WHAT'S IN IT - Forty layouts, from two photos up to nine - Canvas shapes: square, 4:5, 3:4, 9:16, 16:9 — change shape and the photos re-flow - Pinch to zoom and drag to reposition any tile; rotate in quarter turns; swap two tiles by dragging one onto the other - Grout, corner radius and outer margin, all adjustable - Field colour behind the tiles, solid or drawn from one of your photos - Six filters with a strength slider, per tile or across the whole mosaic - Export as JPEG, HEIC or PNG; save to Photos or send to the share sheet Built with Apple frameworks only. No third-party SDKs.
