A two-player card game played with nothing but the numbers 1 to 10. A match takes about three minutes. ■ How it works Every round opens with the points at stake. Pick one card from your hand; both are revealed at the same moment, and the higher number takes the points. The point cards run 1 to 10 as well, one of each, so some rounds are worth nine and some are worth one. A spent card never comes back. Ten rounds use up your whole hand, so the only question that matters is when you spend your high cards. ■ Only 1 beats 10 There is one exception. The weakest card beats the strongest one, and nothing else does. Land it and the round pays five points more. Which is why nobody spends a 10 lightly, and nobody wants to be holding a 1 at the end. Read their 10 and answer with your 1 — or read that, and hold your 10 back. All ten rounds are that argument. ■ Nothing is left to luck No hands are dealt. You and your rival hold exactly the same ten cards. The only thing that separates you is which card you spend, and when. Their remaining cards stay visible the whole match. ■ Play online Ranked matches pair you with a stranger. Three points for a win, one for a draw, with leaderboards for all time and for this week. When a season closes, its crest stays with you. If nobody turns up, you can drop into a CPU match after thirty seconds. Matchmaking keeps running behind it and pulls you across the moment a person is found. CPU results never count toward the leaderboard. Lose signal mid-match and you pick the board back up exactly where you left it. ■ No sign-up Your account is created on first launch. No password, no email address. Sign in to Game Center and your record is kept. ■ No ads, no in-app purchases
