Store description excerpt

Tatak was made in a laboratory. His creator broke his vase, and Tatak is not staying to see what the professor breaks next. Guide him through the tunnels under the lab in this retro pixel arcade runner — a faithful remake of the 2011 mobile classic, back on modern phones and tablets for the first time. Above ground the professor is stamping. Down here that means the ceiling comes down without warning, and the tunnel closes on top of you. READ THE SLAM The tunnel does not just crush you — it presses you down and then kills you on the floor. Every slam plays out one of three ways: it comes all the way down, it stalls in mid-air short of the ground, or it feints and pulls back. Learn the difference, find a pocket in the rock deep enough to stand in, and let the ceiling shut around you. RUN THE WINDING CAVE 22 hand-authored tunnel sections, streamed at random, so no two escapes are the same — an endless runner the way 2011 imagined it. The floor rises and falls in steps you cannot walk up — you jump them — and the gap between floor and ceiling winds up and down as you go. Pits open under your feet. The pace climbs the further you get. GRAB WHAT YOU CAN Four kinds of treasure hang in the tunnel, worth 100 up to 500 points each, and one red one that costs you a piece of your vase. Five pieces is all you get. A collapse buries everything on screen, so take the risk before the ceiling does. OLD SCHOOL, OFFLINE, ANYWHERE Tatak is an offline game in the best old-school sense: no wifi needed, no account, no sign-in, no waiting. One-hand controls — jump, and nudge left or right — in portrait or landscape. A classic arcade game that fits in a pocket of your day: distance pays while you run, treasure pays in bursts, and the only thing that ends a run is you. FAITHFUL TO THE ORIGINAL This is the 2011 Java (J2ME) game rebuilt from its own data — the same 163-tile art, the same hand-drawn comic intro, the same tune, the same 22 patterns, the same physics down to how the ceiling shoves a jumping creature back to the floor. If you played it on a keypad phone, it plays the way you remember. FEATURES - Retro pixel-art arcade runner, rebuilt from the 2011 original - 22 hand-authored tunnel sections, shuffled every run - Three different ceiling slams to read and survive - Five treasure types, one of which you should not touch - 8-panel hand-drawn comic intro - Nine achievements and a global high-score leaderboard - One-hand controls: jump, and nudge left or right - Plays in landscape or portrait - Play offline — no wifi, no account, no sign-in - The original 2011 soundtrack, re-rendered from the game's own MIDI - Free to play, with one banner ad you can remove for good with a single purchase If you grew up on endless runners, cave-flying games, old-school platformers or anything you played on a keypad phone, Tatak is that feeling without the emulator. The professor is coming. Run.
