Tara is a verified, trauma-informed resource app developed by Imaara Survivor Support Foundation to close the gap between survivors of gender-based violence and the support systems meant to help them. Across Chennai and expanding to Other Indian states, critical services — police & protection units, mental-health, medical, shelter & food, employment and education support, and legal aid — often exist but remain scattered, unverified, or unknown to the people who need them most. Tara addresses this by curating and verifying a directory of these services, making them searchable and accessible in one place. The app is designed with survivors and bystanders both in mind, recognizing that support-seeking often happens in moments of urgency, fear, or confusion. Every listing is built on ground-level research and direct verification, rather than relying on outdated public records. Tara's design is intentionally trauma-informed — prioritizing clarity, dignity, and ease of use over complexity. Beyond emergency response, the app supports Imaara's broader mission of gender0based violence prevention and advocacy across schools, universities, and communities. It reflects a shift from reactive crisis response toward accessible, everyday infrastructure for safety. Ultimately, Tara exists to make sure that finding help is never the hardest part of surviving violence.
