Store description excerpt

People who try to move off a smartphone almost never fail from weak willpower. They fail for two reasons, and Taper is built around both. The first is that the phone is quietly load-bearing. Banking, login codes, maps, tickets, parking, work chat. Nobody plans for these, so the attempt collapses the first time something practical breaks. The second is that leaving a platform means losing the people on it. If plans happen in a group chat and you leave, you stop getting invited. Taper solves the migration, not the motivation. It assumes you already want to go. TWELVE WEEKS, IN THE RIGHT ORDER The programme cuts by harm first and infrastructure last. It starts with what is purely consumptive and depends on nothing, and finishes with the things everything else rests on. Nothing is deleted before there is something in its place. Week 1 is free and cuts nothing at all. It is an audit of what you would actually lose - and it ends with their phone numbers, not a list of names. A name changes nothing; the person is still gone when the app is. WHAT YOU GET - A week-by-week plan, one job per week, with an if-then plan you write and rehearse for each cut - Guides for the things that strand people: banks that work without a phone, where your login codes go, maps, tickets and travel, music and podcasts - A contact audit, so nobody falls off the end of your old phone - Goodbye messages you can send before you go quiet, not after - A readiness check before the switch itself, so you know what is still unresolved WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No streaks. No badges. No daily notifications asking how you feel. No urge journal. Repeating a week is normal and nothing resets when you do. This is the least gamified app on your phone, on purpose. It would be strange to spend twelve weeks telling you to distrust engagement mechanics while using them on you. HOW IT IS BUILT Your answers stay on your device. There is no account, no sign-in and no server. The programme is one payment, not a subscription. Charging rent for something you are meant to finish and delete would contradict the whole idea.
