Takebase is where a band works on a track together. Record it, listen to it, mark the bits that need work, and stack the next take on top. It lands on the track it belongs to instead of the bottom of a chat thread. RECORD Record straight into the app, from an album or from the track you are adding to. Play to a metronome if you want one: set the tempo with the arrows, by dragging the number, or by tapping it in time, and count in a bar, two or three at that tempo. The waveform flashes on every click and a bar under it shows the beat. The check keeps it, the bin throws it away, and nothing uploads until you keep it. Recorded somewhere else? Share it in from Voice Memos, Files, or anywhere with a share sheet. m4a, mp3, wav and aiff all work. LISTEN AND COMMENT Play a take on a waveform you can scrub. Double tap the timeline to leave a comment at 1:23, and everyone else sees it pinned there. Reply, or tick it off when it is done. A comment belongs to the take it was left on, so it never slides onto a new mix of a different length and points at the wrong bar. When a comment or a new take lands, the band gets a notification. PRACTISE Press and hold the waveform and drag to loop a section. Move the handles while it plays; the loop turns round without a gap or a click. Drag a playing take and the sound follows your finger, so you can find the bar by ear. Add a click to a take and Takebase finds the beats in the recording itself, so it stays with the band through a tempo that drifts. The beats are drawn on the waveform, and one tap fixes a wrong grid. TAKES Takes stack newest first, each carrying the date it was actually recorded. Switch between them in the player and compare without leaving the track. Rename a take, sort them, choose the one the track plays, or move it to another track or out into a track of its own. YOUR LIBRARY Albums hold tracks. Tracks hold takes. No folder tree, no session layer. A wall of covers or a list, dragged into the order you want, searchable, and every row says how many takes it has and how long they run. Mark a track or a take with a colour to find it again. Your colours stay on your phone. WORKING TOGETHER A share link opens the album in Takebase for anyone who has the app, and offers the app to anyone who does not. Tapping it joins that person to the album. No roles to hand out: everybody in an album can add takes and leave comments. A link lasts a day. Adding people is always free. The limit is on audio, never on people. LISTENING A take is kept on your device after the first play, so a track keeps playing where the signal does not. Playback carries on from the lock screen and over AirPlay. Whatever you send is converted to 192 kbps AAC, and that copy is what Takebase streams. WHAT IT COSTS Free up to 30 minutes of stored audio. Takebase Pro raises that to 15 hours, delete a take and its minutes come back. Going over the free limit pauses uploads and playback until you make room or subscribe. Not
