Tagrain Kitchen Display System (KDS) is a software module that allows you to manage your customer orders for your cafe and restaurant. The application is available for Android Tablets, and can be freely downloaded from the Google Play Store. This plugin is primarily targeted towards cafes and restaurants who are selling food items and beverages and have a seating area of a few tables where the food is served to the customers. Kitchen Display System (KDS) is used by cafes and restaurants to manage table orders. KDS is deployed at the various sections of the kitchen where the actual cooking takes place. This is done to notify the chef and the kitchen staff as to what needs to be prepared and in what quantity along with any special requests made with the order. This reduces the chances of any error in preparing the order and thereby improves kitchen efficiency by reducing order cancellations and food wastage. The orders placed on the Tagrain POS terminal are synced with Tagrain Kitchen Display System. For example, a kitchen may have different sections: grill, bake, pantry, etc. A KDS would be deployed at all these sections. These are the sections where the actual food preparation takes place. When a kitchen order is placed on the Tagrain POS terminal, the order is synced across the Tagrain KDS installed at each section. This allows the cooking staff to view the table order to be fulfilled and accordingly distribute the task among themselves. This not only avoids confusion and reduces the chances of any error in preparing the order but also ensures that all dishes in an order are ready on time. The main focus of KDS is on improving how the back of house operates. When you integrate KDS with Tagrain POS solution, you eliminate the need for kitchen printers and paper tokens which reduces your stationery cost in the long run.
