On a pilgrimage to Tokyo, the expensive mistake isn't the flight. It's the plan. Tabito does one thing: work out everything about your trip that can be worked out, and say so plainly when something can't. ■ It says no "The Tokyo Metro 24-hour pass is worth it — buy" comes with the arithmetic: "Costs ¥600; this trip uses ¥390, plus 2 legs whose fares we can't look up but which are at least ¥180 each — so you save at least ¥150." When it isn't worth it, it says "you'd waste ¥210 — don't buy." The advice doesn't depend on who pays us, because there are no affiliate links. ■ Calculated and estimated are labelled differently Transit fares come from real tariffs and are marked "exact". Lodging and meals are ranges, marked "estimated". For the legs where no commercially licensed data exists (JR East publishes no open fare data; Odakyu and Keio license theirs for events only), we tell you how big the gap is instead of passing an estimate off as a calculation. ■ Every fact carries a source and a date The coordinates, opening hours and admission for all 25 spots each cite where they came from and when we last verified them. Found something wrong? Report it in the app — we update only after verifying. Nothing ships unverified. ■ Useful while you're actually there · Which station you're at and where to go next (ordered by earliest closing time, not by nearest — going to the closest first is how the early-closing spot never gets visited) · Ask-for-help board: the Japanese to show someone, your language underneath. Works fully offline · Reconciliation: what we said the trip would cost against what you actually spent, broken down by category ■ Your data stays on your phone No server, no account. Itineraries, lists, expenses, photos and notes are written only to this device. Never uploaded, never shared, never counted in anything. Deleting the app deletes all of it. Planning, exact fares and "don't buy it" verdicts are free forever — no membership needed. Note: the app interface is available in English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese. The descriptions of the 25 pilgrimage spots themselves are currently Chinese only — we would rather say that here than have you find out after downloading. SUBSCRIPTION Departure Kit (Monthly) and Departure Kit (Yearly) are auto-renewing subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel it any time in your Apple ID settings.
