Store description excerpt

The SUSOKA is a beta thalassemia\HbE traits screening application, which is a first of its kind. The objective of this SUSOKA application was to rule out non-carrier individuals as much as possible based on five hematological parameters, which can be easily measured through a simple blood test. Therefore, before initiating the expensive high-performance liquid chromatography, medical practitioners can use it for further recommendation. Common people can also easily use SUSOKA to identify whether they need to consult medical practitioners for beta-thalassemia screening. The most effective way to combat beta-thalassemia is to prevent the birth of children with thalassemia major. Therefore, a cost-effective screening method is essential to identify beta-thalassemia traits and differentiate normal individuals from carriers. Based on five hematological parameters (Hb, RDW, MCH, MCV, RBC), SUSOKA is developed by using a scoring mechanism for beta-thalassemia traits detection. This application is a part of the research work by Reena Das; Saikat Datta; Anilava Kaviraj; Soumendra Nath Sanyal; Peter Nielsen; Izabela Nielsen; Prashant Sharma; Tanmay Sanyal: Kartick Dey; Subrata Saha. All the members in the group are equally responsible to develop the application. SUSOKA application is for human welfare. It will help to create awareness among common people and reduce potential healthcare burden. Till the present version may not be accurate in some cases, because the experiment is still on going.
