Store description excerpt
The Survivor Diaries app from Michigan State University’s Research Institute for Structural Change is a resource offering for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. It is a diary-style recording app for making voice recordings of unlimited length. It provides a way to revisit your experiences, as well as giving you the option to join a broader movement of survivors speaking up about their experiences. The app has a secure sign-in process and allows you to choose where to store your recordings (locally on your device, or with our secure server). You can always change the storage settings and choose what you upload to the server and what it is used for. You can record anything that is important to you, just for your own use. As a bonus, you can also opt into participating in a wider survivor-led conversation about how to end gender-based violence, with options like submitting your recordings to inform survivor-centered research or having them featured on our project website to support other survivors of violence.
