Store description excerpt
SunnySky is the honest weather instrument: up to seven independent forecast sources side by side — disagreement included — plus live reports from people actually standing under that sky. WEATHER THAT ANSWERS "Can I run before the rain?" SunnySky computes the answer and shows its work: a dry-window finder, activity windows for the things you actually do outside (run, ride, golf, stargaze — fifteen and counting), and a morning briefing push with your day in one line. MULTIPLE FORECASTS, ONE HONEST VERDICT Open-Meteo, MET Norway, the National Weather Service, Apple Weather, Pirate Weather, OpenWeather, and Google Weather are fetched independently; regional availability varies. When they disagree, you see it — never an averaged-away guess. A multi-model rain vote adds another view, and models without local data are excluded rather than counted as dry. SEE THE STORM COMING Animated radar with a short-term forecast loop, GOES satellite imagery, NWS warning polygons, SPC severe-weather outlooks, and tropical systems — on a fast, dark map built for reading the sky, not admiring the cartography. GROUND TRUTH FROM REAL SKIES Official NWS spotter reports (hail sizes, wind damage, flooding) seed a live feed alongside reports from the SunnySky community. Ask a place a question — "still open and usable?" — and get answers from people who are there. Confirmations keep reports honest: still true, or not anymore. YOUR PEOPLE, YOUR PLACES Follow the folks and spots you care about — is it raining at Mom's house? — and see them on the map. Following a person requires their approval, and followers-only reports stay private until they say yes. THE INSTRUMENT STANDARD Station observations next to model output. Units on every number. Timestamps on every reading. Severe weather alerts are included for every account. Sources: Open-Meteo, MET Norway, US National Weather Service, Apple Weather, Pirate Weather, OpenWeather, Google Weather, NOAA (SPC, NHC, CO-OPS, SWPC), aviationweather.gov, USGS, RainViewer, CARTO, and OpenStreetMap.
