The name Sukhmani Sahib is commonly understood as “the prayer of peace.” The composition contains 24 Ashtpadis. Each Ashtpadi contains eight Pauris, with introductory and concluding verses that guide the reader through themes of remembrance, humility, truthful living, spiritual discipline, devotion, and peace.
